How to Play Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar
Quick start
Start a new game and follow Felix's introduction to your farm. Take the hoe, watering can and turnip seeds from his crop lesson. Till a small area south of the house, equip the seeds and plant them, then fill the can at the pump and water the soil. Keep goods for your first bazaar; Felix explains how to set up the stall when you attend.
Controls
DS controls: D-pad moves; A jumps, and a second A in the air double-jumps. B talks, picks up items, catches insects or uses the equipped tool; at your stall it rings the bell. X opens the rucksack; Y stores the held item or puts away a tool. R opens tool selection; L switches walking/running. Touch is used for inventory navigation, not movement. START/SELECT are unused.

Farm life in Zephyr Town revolves around the weekly bazaar. Instead of dropping every harvest into a shipping bin, you save goods for your own stall, ring a bell to draw shoppers and answer customers while serving them. Crops, animal products and prepared food give you different ways to stock the counter. Windmills process ingredients into more valuable goods, linking everyday farm work with plans for the next market. Away from selling, you can explore the village, catch insects and build friendships. The DS original uses button movement and jumping, with the lower screen handling maps and inventory, so preparing for market and moving around town have distinct rhythms.
