How to Play Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness
Quick start
Choose your farmer and enter the names and choose your birthday, then follow Taro’s introduction to the island farm. Learn to move with the stylus and clear a modest planting area. Accept Taro’s crop tutorial on the second day to practise tilling, sowing turnips and watering. Keep stamina in reserve, gather local produce for shipping and save through Diary in the main menu.
Controls
Use the stylus to guide movement: hold near the farmer to walk or farther away to run. Tap people and objects to interact. Line up the blue target square, then tap the equipped tool icon to work that square. The D-pad or face buttons select/use assigned tool slots; they do not provide normal directional movement. Tap the main menu for the rucksack and Diary saves.

Island of Happiness lets you begin as a boy or girl stranded after a storm at sea. An abandoned farm becomes the starting point for a community that grows as you ship produce, improve facilities and meet conditions for new arrivals. Crops depend on accumulated sunlight and water, so weather matters alongside your planting schedule. Livestock, fishing, mining and relationships offer other paths through the seasons. Tools gain new capabilities through Wonderful Stones, while touch-driven movement gives everyday work its own rhythm.
