How to Play Heisei Tensai Bakabon
Quick start
Press START at the title, then leave the password unchanged and press A for a new game. Walk through the first obstacles before experimenting with speed. Use a short jump to read the landing space; for a wider gap, build momentum with a direction plus B, then press A. Brake with the opposite direction before a wall. Open the umbrella early on a long descent, since it cannot deploy during a very fast fall.
Controls
D-pad left/right: walk; down: crouch; down plus left/right: crawl; up/down at ladders: climb. A: jump. Direction plus B: dash; opposite direction: brake. B while stationary: open/close the umbrella; B in midair: open it unless falling too fast. Hold up after grabbing a ledge to climb. When hooked onto a pole, time A to jump off. START: start/pause. Password screen: left/right chooses a position, up/down changes its character, A confirms.
Heisei Tensai Bakabon — About this game
Heisei Tensai Bakabon is a Japanese Famicom platform game built around awkward-looking but surprisingly varied movement. Papa enters Bakada University after Mama and Hajime are taken away. Rather than clearing every enemy with a weapon, you work around hazards by crawling, climbing ledges, building speed for long jumps, and opening an umbrella before a fall becomes too fast. The umbrella can also catch special poles for swinging across gaps. Circus, ninja, gym, and laboratory areas mix traversal with short confrontations and boss minigames. Reckless speed has a cost: crashing into a wall or dropping from a height drains vitality. Hidden supplies and a password system make learning each troublesome section more manageable.
