How to Play Heroes of Mana

Quick start

Choose New Game and follow the early Forest of Beasts lessons. Tap Roget and send him east to reveal Gaia. Use the prompted carrier steps to build the Gatherer Unit Base, summon a Rabite and order it to collect stones. Then reveal Treant and learn the berry route before expanding the force.

Controls

Tap a unit, then its destination, enemy or resource target to give the appropriate order. For groups, touch the group-selection icon and draw a loop around the units. The D-pad scrolls the battlefield and L/R rotate it. Hold B to speed events or battle. START opens the system menu and pauses the mission. Build and summon only with the carrier anchored.

Heroes of Mana — About this game

Heroes of Mana turns the DS series toward real-time strategy. Roget's force relies on the Nightswan as a mobile carrier: gatherers bring back Gaia's stones for facilities and Treant's berries for new units. Building and summoning require the carrier to be anchored, so moving your base has a cost as well as an advantage. On the battlefield, select individual troops or groups and match their jobs to the mission's conditions. Watching a harvesting route while directing a fight makes preparation and battlefield awareness as important as an attack order.
