How to Play High Heat Major League Baseball 2002

Quick start

Choose Exhibition, select the home and visiting teams—your team is the one on the left—and start a short game. New players can first use Batting Practice to learn timing. At bat, use B for the swing and hold A to bunt; combine the D-Pad with the swing to influence fly ball, ground ball or direction. On the mound, choose a pitch with a D-Pad direction plus A, choose its location and confirm with A. Turn Automatic Fielding on while learning.

Controls

Menus use D-Pad, A to select and B to go back. Batting uses B to swing and hold A to bunt; D-Pad modifies the intended ball direction/type. Pitching selects a pitch with D-Pad+A, then aims with D-Pad and confirms with A; D-Pad+B attempts a pickoff. In the field, D-Pad runs and the displayed direction/A/B inputs throw to a base or cutoff. START pauses; L/R combine with directions for baserunner advance/retreat.
