How to Play Hiryu no Ken II: Dragon’s Wings

Quick start

Press START at the title, move the cursor with the D-pad, and confirm with A. For a first action run, choose アクションモード and チビッコよう, then follow the opening lesson. Watch for a target on the enemy to attack at that height, or on your fighter to guard there. On the journey, learn Up-jumping rather than expecting A to jump. START opens the pause menu; use its password option before leaving.

Controls

Menus: D-pad selects, A confirms, B cancels. Journey: left/right move, Up jumps or enters a door, Down crouches/drops from a ledge; A kicks, B punches, Up+A+B spins, SELECT uses holy water, START pauses/opens the menu. Action duels share one layout in Chibikko and Mania: A kick/B punch; add Up for high attacks or Down+A for low kick; neutral/up/down guard middle/high/low. Up+A+B performs Hiryu no Ken at KO 100; SELECT uses holy water, START opens commands. Anime RPG duels use D-pad/A command selection, not those attack combinations.

Hiryu no Ken II: Dragon’s Wings — About this game

Dragon’s Wings combines a freely explored side-scrolling journey with one-on-one martial-arts encounters. Ryuhi gains experience, finds important objects, and eventually fights alongside other Dragon Warriors whose powers matter against particular enemies. Action mode offers Chibikko and Mania difficulties; the latter is required for the true ending. Anime RPG instead replaces the duel inputs with command choices, while VS Tournament provides a separate martial-arts competition. This is the Japanese Famicom game, not the reworked Flying Warriors.
