How to Play Fist of the Flying Dragon: 5 Dragon Warriors

Quick start

Choose スタート after pressing START at the title. For a first run, select チビッコモード and ビギナー to learn the targeting system. Move right through the opening streets and practice jumping before rushing into a duel. When your own body is marked, block before attacking. SELECT uses stocked holy water. Copy the password from ふっかつのおうぎ in the menu when you want to resume later.

Controls

Beginner: A jumps; B attacks (kicks during travel); any D-pad direction automatically guards in duels. Master: A punches, B kicks; D-pad moves/selects attack or guard height; Up jumps during travel, Left/Right+A+B makes a large jump. With a full KO gauge in transformed duels, Up+A casts magic and Up+A+B uses Hiryu no Ken. START pauses/opens commands; SELECT uses holy water. Appropriate weapons affect magic; Up+A during travel instead releases enhanced fighting energy.

Fist of the Flying Dragon: 5 Dragon Warriors — About this game

Hiryu no Ken III follows five fighters through separate chapters before their paths converge. Street encounters give way to duels where glowing marks identify vulnerable body levels: defend the marked area on your fighter, then strike an opening on the opponent. Good blocking builds the KO gauge for powerful techniques. Transformations introduce weapons and magical attacks, while giant monsters are fought through command choices rather than ordinary button combat. Three difficulty settings are separate from the Beginner and Master control layouts. This entry is the Japanese original, not Flying Warriors; Japanese menu labels are retained here to help you follow the screen.
