How to Play How to Train Your Dragon
Quick start
Select New Game, choose Hiccup or Astrid, customize your dragon and give it a name. On the map, tap a destination towards the pulsing quest star. Check Status for your task and Attack Roster for available moves. In battle, read Energy costs before choosing an attack. Return to Gobber with armor materials and follow the forging tutorial.
Controls
Use the touch screen for menus, map destinations and battle moves. Drag the map to scroll; tap the full Special Meter to activate it and follow the microgame prompts. Change your six-move roster on the world map to avoid the Energy cost of changing it in battle. Flying courses allow touch, +Control Pad or face-button steering, with L or R to fire.
How to Train Your Dragon — About this game
This DS adventure lets you begin as Hiccup with a Night Fury or Astrid with a Deadly Nadder, then customize and name your dragon. Follow quest markers across the world map and prepare for battles through armor and an attack roster of six moves. Each move costs Energy, and upgrades open further branches of the ability tree. Attacking fills a Special Meter; activating it enables microgames that can strengthen your attacks. Victories award items, gold and sometimes move upgrades. Bring collected patterns and ore to Gobber to forge armor, or take Fishlegs' flying courses for obstacle dodging, shooting and coin collection. Preparation on the map helps you enter each duel with the moves you want.
