How to Play Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Quick start
Choose Play, select an empty save file and START, then begin Buck's available story level. Learn movement and B to jump before combining A then B for a super jump. Check the route for swing hooks and climbable patches. Use the story selection screen later to enter unlocked Sid or Scrat mini-games.
Controls
As Buck, the Control Pad moves, A cartwheels, B jumps, Y uses the tooth knife and X throws a grenade; hold X to aim and use L/R to change grenades. B then Y ground-stomps; double-tap B near a swing hook for a lasso swing. Sid's aiming uses stylus drag/release; select a waking baby and hush it through the microphone. Scrat's seesaw moves by touch or Control Pad and flips with L/R or a face button. START pauses.

Sid has been taken by a T-Rex, so Buck heads into a dinosaur world of jungles, caves and cliffs to rescue him. This DS adventure builds its routes around Buck's jumps, cartwheels, wall moves and lasso swings. His tooth knife deals with carnivorous plants, while different grenades fight threats, clear paths and solve environmental puzzles. Hidden acorns unlock Scrat activities, and gems buy bonus content. Unlockable mini-games change the controls: Sid uses touch aiming and the microphone to keep baby dinosaurs asleep, while Scrat and Scratte bounce from a movable seesaw to gather acorns. Read the current character's instructions rather than carrying Buck's jump-and-attack rhythm into every activity.
