How to Play IK+

Quick start

Press START at the title screen, choose New Game, and enter the three-karateka tournament. The D-pad alone performs your fighter's attacks, so spend the opening round learning how each direction changes with your facing rather than looking for a punch button. Land clean hits during each 30-second bout, finish first or second on points, and avoid third place, which ends the run. Every third round is a reflex bonus round; passwords let you return to later challenges.

Controls

D-pad: perform the direction-based karate moves and recover from a knockdown. A/B: select/cancel in menus, but have no attack function during a fight. L/R: change the game speed. START: pause; on the pause screen A quits and B resumes. SELECT has no assigned function. The Options menu separately adjusts music volume, sound volume, and inverted Y-axis behavior.
