How to Play Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road
Quick start
Use SELECT at the title to choose one player, then START. Move a short distance and try B for the starting gun and A for grenades. Hold B while moving sideways to keep firing in one direction. Press SELECT to inspect the sub-screen, choose a weapon category with the D-pad and confirm with A or B; follow END to return to play.
Controls
D-pad moves in eight directions. B uses the equipped B weapon; hold B for Stop-Action movement with fixed aim, release to end it. A uses the equipped grenade/mine. SELECT opens the sub-screen; D-pad selects commands and A/B confirms the category and equipment. END cycles onward/returns to play. START begins and pauses/resumes.

Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road takes the NES commandos beyond a conventional battlefield. Paul and Vince face monsters in a distant future, collecting weapons and managing a separate life gauge and heart currency. The B weapon can be a gun, sword or boomerang, while A handles grenades or mines. A sub-screen lets you change what is equipped rather than using every pickup immediately. Shops sell supplies, but their bounty-hunter contests risk your hearts. Learning to move while keeping your aim fixed is a useful early skill.
