AI Igo DS brings a computer Go opponent and an illustrated guide to the handheld. Place stones on intersections, surround territory and watch the liberties of groups before trying to capture them. The guide explains the board, capture and the flow of a game; smaller nine- and thirteen-line boards make early practice manageable. Begin with the guide and a modest AI setting, then inspect the position graph after several moves. A local wireless opponent is also available. Concentrate on keeping groups connected before attempting a large enclosure, and use review to understand where the balance changed.
