Quick start
Open The Petty Murder of a Fragile Heart. At Hunter D.A., inspect Yulia, then discuss Me, Yulia and Agency. Inspect the entrance, question Kingsley about King's job, the case, Mary Taylor, the cause of death and witnesses, and agree to help. Visit A.C. Park, inspect the park and ask Mr. Matthews about the murder, scene, body and homeless people.
Controls
DS: D-pad navigates menus, A confirms and B cancels. Y opens the item menu, L calls up the thinking action and R opens the notebook. START opens the save menu. The stylus also selects commands and topics. Check the notebook and use a new topic before repeatedly choosing an unchanged one.

Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past expands the earlier English release with a new translation, six main cases and additional short mysteries. Investigation still revolves around choosing what to inspect, who to question and where to go after a lead appears. The notebook keeps case information close at hand, while thinking through an event can reveal the next question. Main stories emphasise following evidence and recalling details; the shorter Unleashed episodes offer a different, comic presentation with deductions that can fail. This edition's wording and opening commands should be followed on their own, even when a case also appeared in Detective Chronicles.
