How to Play Jam Sessions - Sing & Play Guitar
Quick start
Open the tutorial and learn chord selection and the strum bar. Alternate two chords slowly, then try an ear-training example. Use Performance's chord guide for a familiar song or Free Play to record a short guitar idea; there is no stage-clear target.
Controls
Hold a direction on the DS pad to select its assigned chord and strum the touch-screen bar with the stylus. Follow the displayed up/down strokes in a song guide; L changes to the alternate chord palette. In ear training listen first, then reproduce the example with the offered chords.

The original Jam Sessions centres on playing and experimenting with a virtual acoustic guitar. Pick chords with the directional palette and strum the screen, using the song guide's chord changes and stroke directions for a guided performance. Training includes listening and reproducing musical examples, while Free Play lets you arrange chords, try sound effects and record guitar ideas. It has no level-clearing or high-score campaign. Begin with the tutorial's chord selection and a slow pair of changes, then try an ear-training example before following a complete song or making a short recording. Begin with the opening instructions and practice the main interaction before pursuing optional rewards. Read the current objective, make one deliberate choice and watch its effect before repeating it. A short first session makes it easier to separate a missed instruction from a difficult challenge. Return to the available menu when you need to check progress or adjust your approach, then continue from the next clear objective.
