How to Play Jeopardy! 25th Anniversary Edition

Quick start

At PRESS START TO BEGIN, press START on Controller 1. Choose the human-player count with the D-pad and A/B, then select skill level 1 for the longest entry timer. Decide whether to face the computer, enter a name and finish it with END. Accept a portrait by selecting NO when asked for a new character. Select a category, then a clue value. Press a direction to buzz, complete the displayed question using A/B to enter letters, and confirm END before the countdown reaches zero.

Controls

Use the D-pad to navigate setup, the clue board and text entry. A and B are interchangeable confirmation buttons for choices, letters, numbers, the correction arrow and END. START starts the game; SELECT has no function. Player 1 buzzes with Controller 1's D-pad, and Player 2 uses Controller 2's D-pad. With three humans, Player 3 shares Controller 1 and uses A or B to buzz. The question prefix is supplied; enter the remaining response and submit END.

Jeopardy! 25th Anniversary Edition — About this game

Jeopardy! 25th Anniversary Edition supplies a new set of nearly 2,000 clues while retaining the TV show's three-round contest on the NES. A clue gives the answer; you must buzz in and enter the missing words of its question on an alphabet grid. Category choice, clue values and Daily Double bets all affect the money race, and the final wager can change the result. The anniversary edition supports one to three human contestants and optional computer opposition. Its three skill levels govern response-entry time—50, 45 or 40 seconds—rather than acting as a simple switch between easy and hard question banks. Accurate names, numbers and singular or plural forms matter when submitting a response.
