How to Play Jordan vs. Bird: One on One
Quick start
Press START, use Down to choose ONE ON ONE WARM UP and confirm with START. Select a player with A, then START. Practise holding A to jump and releasing it before landing to shoot. When ready for an opponent, choose a match mode, set the other player to C for computer control and use level 4 for the easiest setting; level 1 is the hardest. Learn dunk timing separately in SLAM DUNK WARM UP.
Controls
D-pad moves. Hold A, then release to shoot; A also jumps on defense. B attempts a steal while facing the opponent, and B with a direction changes movement/facing. In three-point events, B picks up a ball. For dunks, hold A on the approach and release to complete the move. SELECT calls time out in one-on-one when the ball is not in play; START resumes from that screen. During play, START can return to GAME OPTIONS, so do not use it as a normal pause button.
Jordan vs. Bird: One on One — About this game
Jordan vs. Bird concentrates on two basketball stars rather than full teams. Its eight options cover one-on-one matches, dunking and three-point shooting, including warm-up modes. A one-on-one game can use timed periods or a target score of eleven or fifteen. Shooting success depends on release timing, position and defensive pressure, so learning a comfortable spot matters. Jordan’s dunk routines and Bird’s shooting contest offer different tests of timing. Multiplayer also varies by event: one-on-one uses two controllers, while the contests pass controller one between participants.
