How to Play Joust
Quick start
Press Select on the title screen to choose the player count and Game A or B, then Start to begin. Start with 1 Player Game A. Use Left/Right to move and tap A to practise gaining height. Get above an enemy before making contact; chasing straight into a rider at the same height only pushes you apart. After a successful clash, locate the egg and collect it by touching it before it hatches. Keep enough room to climb again rather than dropping into another rider's path.
Controls
Left/Right: move your mount horizontally. A: flap to adjust altitude. Defeat riders by making contact from above; there is no separate attack command. Touch eggs to collect them. Select chooses the game on the title screen. Start begins play and pauses/resumes a running game.
Joust — About this game
Joust turns flight control into a contest for the higher position. You ride an ostrich between ledges and collide with enemy riders: approaching from above wins the clash, while meeting an opponent overhead costs a life. The fallen rider leaves an egg, so a successful attack is not the end of the job. Collect it before it hatches and brings an enemy back into play. Clearing the riders and their eggs advances the next wave, with changing platforms and hazards complicating the route. There are one- and two-player games, each with an easier Game A and a tougher Game B. Good play means balancing altitude, horizontal momentum, and the risk of descending to collect eggs.
