How to Play Kaettekita Mario Bros.
Quick start
Press START on the title to proceed to the menu. If you want to enter a name, select ``Name and Uroku'', select the characters with the cross keys and press A to enter them, then select ``Sebu'' and press A to register. Select the play mode and single/two-player mode, and switch discs when prompted for side B. Start with START on the game screen. First, use the A jump to push up the floor directly below the enemy, then approach and kick the enemy before it gets back up.
Controls
D-pad left and right: Move. Even while jumping, you can adjust the movement in the air using left and right input. A: Jump and push up the floor above. START: Go to menu from title, start game, pause/resume during play. For two players, the I controller is Mario and the II controller is Luigi. When registering a name, use the four-way controller to select characters, press A to enter, and while holding B, move the input position using the four-way controller. Switch the Mario/Luigi screen using SELECT during registration.
Kaettekita Mario Bros. — About this game
``The Return of Mario Bros.'' is a fixed-screen action game in which Mario and Luigi jump from scaffolding to defeat enemies emerging from clay pipes. Push up from below the floor where the enemy is, and while it's upside down, kick it off and proceed to the next PHASE. You can adjust your movement left and right while jumping, so change your landing spot to avoid collision with enemies. In addition to being able to play alone, two people can work together on the same screen and interfere with each other's movements. In addition to the usual "Original Mario Bros.", "Nagatanien World" also features support messages and a resurrection slot when the game is over. Nagatanien's advertising performance, name registration, and saving of top scores are also fun and different from the cassette version.
