How to Play Keiba Simulation: Honmei

Quick start

First, select the venue on the screen to enter course conditions, set grass/dirt, distance, and inner/outer turns if necessary. Once you have the track conditions, race number, number of horses, and weather, enter the leg quality and performance of each horse in order. Select an item or value with the cross button, confirm with A, and use B if you want to go back. Since the numbers cannot be sent down from 0 and wrapped around to 9, please increase large numbers at the top. If you don't understand an item, check the explanation with START. Once you have entered the information, select "Race" to view the mock race and finish display.

Controls

Cross button: Select menu and change input values. A: Determined. B: Cancelled. START: Displays the item description on the data entry screen. When inputting numerical values, it is not possible to increase the value at the top and cycle from 0 to 9 at the bottom. The race is a spectator style game that progresses automatically based on the input conditions, and is not a game where you control the running horse with direction keys or repeated taps.

Keiba Simulation: Honmei — About this game

"Horse Racing Simulation Honmei" is a horse racing prediction software for the Famicom that allows you to input course conditions and information on the horses in the race and run a simulated race. This is not about operating horses as a jockey or raising racehorses on a farm. The venue, turf/dirt, distance, racetrack conditions, number of runners, etc. are determined, and then each horse's leg quality, performance, weight burden, etc. are determined. When you finish entering the information and select ``Race,'' a small screen will show you your run from start to finish, and display the results of the top 5 places. If you are confused about the meaning of an item, you can call up an explanation on the input screen, but it takes a lot of effort to compile the information one by one. This is an old-fashioned prediction software that compares conditions and results, and does not guarantee that the results of real horse racing will be accurate.
