How to Play Kessakusen! Ganbare Goemon 1 & 2: Yukihime to McGuinness
Quick start
Press START on the title and select ``Play Yukihime'', ``Play McGuinness'', or ``Game Hall'' from the main menu. If it's your first time, choose a new travel diary and Goemon/Ebisumaru from the ``Yukihime Rescue Picture Scroll'', complete your information and shopping at Hagure-cho, and then head to ``Horohoro-dera''. In the temple, basically go to the right and your first goal is to jump over the hole and defeat the female ghost in the back. Don't use up all your coins in town, strengthen your weapons with beckoning cats, and save them when you find a travel diary shop. In "McGuinness", enter the route from the area map and destroy the raccoon statue at the goal to open the route. In both GBA versions, you can change characters at any time with SELECT, so use them depending on your physical strength and equipment status.
Controls
Use the cross button to move around town/action and select menu items. For normal actions, press A/B to jump and attack, press SELECT to instantly switch between Goemon/Ebisumaru (characters available in McGuinness), and press START to open the pause/status screen. When in a store or in a conversation, follow the confirmation/return instructions on the screen. The GBA version has fewer buttons than the SFC version, and the buttons are assigned according to the scene in spells, weapon switching, impact battles, and the playground, so please check the screen display at the start. It is not possible to confirm a complete correspondence table for all scenes including L/R in the public GBA materials, and special operations are not uniformly listed.
