How to Play Koto Battle: Tengai no Moribito
Quick start
Press START at the title screen and select はじめから. Enter a name and follow the opening story about the guardian trial. Talk to people with A and follow the early explanations of combat. The hero starts with equipped Kotodama; the equipment menu unlocks when it is taught. Use START in the field to find the menu and save command.
Controls
In the field, use the D-pad to move, A to talk or examine, and START to open the menu. In menus, A confirms and B cancels. In battle, choose with the D-pad and confirm with A; START temporarily hides the command panel. On the Kotodama equipment screen, A picks up or places a character and B removes it. SELECT moves the cursor to the memo area; START moves it to the confirmation option.

Equip twenty Kotodama, then work with the four randomly offered when your battle command becomes ready. Combining their characters creates a card; choose its type and target to summon a monster, equip an item or cast magic. Time costs determine when combatants act, so fast support and stronger slow actions serve different purposes. The card catalogue records discoveries, while memo sets help restore a planned Kotodama selection once that feature is learned.
