How to Play Kujaku Ou II

Quick start

In the early stages, you read about the events that occur on Mt. Koya, and proceed by trying out commands to have conversations, influence your friends, and use techniques. In the first scene, asking for Asura's help is a clue. When you're on the move, check your surroundings, talk to people and allies, and see if there are any situations where you can use tools or techniques. Once you enter the RPG part, use the direction keys to move around the labyrinth. To select a battle, press A to advance, and press B to go back one step. The power used for attack and defense is shared by your allies, so don't use the maximum amount each time, and consider the role of defense when allocating it.

Controls

In the labyrinth of the RPG part, use the direction keys to move. To select a battle item, press A to move forward, and press B to go back one step. Adjust the power of the technique assigned to attack and defense using left and right input. Conversation/investigation scenes proceed by selecting movement, investigation, tools, techniques, conversation, and influencing allies from the action menu on the screen.

Kujaku Ou II — About this game

Based on Makoto Ogino's manga, this is a Famicom work in which Kujaku, Asura, Ojinmaru, and Kōkaiho fight against strange things. Of the four chapters, the first and third chapters are command-selectable adventures, and the second and fourth chapters are RPGs centered around labyrinth exploration, which combine different types of play. Conversation, investigation, the use of tools and techniques, as well as seeking help from your allies are key to progressing through the story. In battle, consider each person's attack and defense, and decide how much power to share. There is also an Aiki method that uses a combination of allies, so it is important not only to continue strong attacks, but also to prepare to move forward while limiting attrition. You can enjoy both the scene where you decipher the clues in the story and the scene where you fight your way through the labyrinth.
