How to Play Last Window: The Secret of Cape West
Quick start
Start a new game and tap the handles of Cape West’s entrance doors. Speak with Tony in the lobby and ask about his remark that their chats will soon end. Meet Margaret, then go upstairs to Room 202. Use its key on the doorknob and pick up the letter that falls to the floor.
Controls
Use the DS in its book-style orientation and select the handedness setting that puts the Touch Screen under your writing hand. Move Kyle by touching the floor plan; tap the active conversation, search or door icon nearby. Select items in the bag to examine, use or combine them. In dialogue, use Inquire or Ignore as appropriate; the notebook contains notes and Save/Load.

Kyle Hyde returns to Cape West, a former hotel converted into apartments, and learns the residents must leave. An unusual letter draws him into the building’s hidden history and questions about his own family. You explore rooms, examine and combine items, and judge when to press people for answers or leave a subject alone. Completed chapters also appear in an in-game novel, offering another perspective on events and details that change with some of your actions.
