How to Play The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon
Quick start
Start the story, practice jumping and attacks, then switch dragons to inspect their elements. Read the flight instructions when the game changes perspective.
Controls
In side-view stages the Control Pad moves, B jumps, A performs melee, X elemental melee and Y breath. L switches dragon, R element, SELECT opens upgrades and START pauses. Flight sections use their own displayed controls.

Dawn of the Dragon on DS sends Spyro and Cynder through side-view platforming and combat before occasional on-rails flights. One player switches dragons to use their different elemental abilities. Practice a jump and short attack sequence before combining elemental melee with breath attacks; using every power at once can leave you poorly placed for the next obstacle. Begin with the opening tutorial and watch how a character change affects the available elements. During flight, follow the new encounter's prompts rather than carrying the side-view controls into the aerial sequence.
