How to Play The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Quick start
Touch the title screen, choose a New Game file, enter a name and select your stylus hand. Open the file and choose Adventure. On Mercay Island, visit Oshus in the nearby house and follow the instructions for finding his sword and learning its attacks before heading through the cave toward the port. Save through Menu → Save. Use the map to record clues, and check the microphone with Mic Test in Options.
Controls
Touch and hold near Link to walk or farther away to run; tap people and objects to interact. After obtaining the sword, tap an enemy to attack, swipe to slash, or draw a large circle around Link to spin. While running, draw small circles at the edge of the screen to roll. L/R hold the equipped item; Y opens Menu, B opens Map and START pauses. Draw the boat route on the sea chart; some puzzles require the microphone.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass — About this game
Link follows the Ghost Ship to rescue Tetra, with Ciela and the treasure-seeking captain Linebeck joining the journey. Exploration alternates between sailing across sea charts and investigating islands full of monsters, hidden paths and dungeon puzzles. The touch screen handles movement, sword strokes and tools, while handwritten map notes help preserve clues for later. Returning to the Temple of the Ocean King adds another concern: the hourglass protects Link for a limited time, and safe zones provide refuge from its dangerous Phantoms. Finding new equipment changes how familiar rooms and islands can be explored.
