How to Play The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Quick start
Choose New Game, enter a name, select your stylus hand and open Adventure. Leave Niko’s house in Aboda Village and meet Alfonzo at the station. Follow his train tutorial: adjust the speed lever, pull the whistle and switch tracks toward Hyrule Castle, avoiding other trains. Save from Menu → Save. Try Mic Test in Options before the later flute sections; the instrument requires microphone input as well as touch controls.
Controls
Hold the stylus near Link to walk or farther away to run; quickly double-tap to roll. Tap people or objects to interact. With the sword, tap enemies, swipe to slash or draw a large circle around Link for a spin attack. L/R take out the equipped item; Y opens Menu, B opens Map and START pauses. Drive with the on-screen speed lever, whistle and rail switch. Draw a route to guide a friendly Phantom. Move the flute sideways and blow into the microphone to play notes.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks — About this game
Link’s journey begins as a young train engineer, but disappearing railways soon draw him into a struggle to restore Hyrule’s Spirit Tracks. Princess Zelda accompanies him in spirit form and can inhabit Phantoms in the Tower of Spirits, turning threatening armour into a partner for puzzles. Away from the tower, villages and temples offer clues, tools and monsters to tackle with the stylus. Train journeys demand attention to junctions, speed and obstacles rather than simply choosing a destination. The Spirit Flute adds microphone-based music, while map notes help keep discoveries organised as new tracks open up the countryside.
