How to Play LEGO® Harry Potter: Years 1 - 4
Quick start
Choose Play from the main menu and start a new adventure. Move toward nearby characters and tap them to interact. When an object can be repaired, tap it and follow the Reparo glyph. Learn the opening spell gestures before exploring side routes.
Controls
Move by placing the stylus on the Touch Screen, or use the Control Pad. Tap characters and objects to interact. For Reparo, tap the target, draw two circles following the glyph and lift the stylus. For Reducto, draw a quick line from your character toward the target. L selects Fun Spells, R cycles party characters and START pauses. A/B/X/Y are not used.

Journey through Harry Potter’s first four years in a LEGO adventure built around exploration, spell use and character abilities. On DS, the stylus handles movement and interaction, and spells use gestures rather than a console action-button layout. Reparo repairs and builds objects, while Reducto breaks targets in your path. Different party members can operate special objects, so a blocked route can call for a character change instead of another attack. Collect studs to buy items in the Room of Requirement, then revisit completed levels in Free Play with abilities that were unavailable on the first visit.
