How to Play Lode Runner
Quick start
Start the original mode, inspect ladders, gold and the exit route, then collect one section before moving on. Try Tsume for a puzzle without chasing robots and use a solution movie when stuck.
Controls
Use the displayed movement and left/right digging controls to climb, cross ropes and open holes. Check where a hole will close before entering it. Choose modes, solution movies and map editing through the DS menus.
Lode Runner — About this game
Lode Runner on DS includes the original game, Championship Lode Runner and the enemy-free Tsume Lode Runner puzzle mode. In the classic stages, use ladders and ropes to collect gold, dig temporary holes to trap robots and reach the exit once the level's treasure is collected. A hole can protect you or block your own route, so plan the return journey before digging. Begin with the original's first stage, then try the harder Championship layouts. The DS collection also offers solution movies and an editor for making maps, which can be sent locally to a friend.
