How to Play Luminous Arc 2
Quick start
Start New Game and accept Rasche's training when offered in the prologue. Practise moving within the highlighted range, attacking the training opponent and ending a unit's turn. Then follow the story through Carnava's Castle Plaza toward the Royal Lab battle. Check elevation and the displayed turn order before advancing into an enemy's reach.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move the cursor and A to confirm a square or command. B returns to the active unit; pressing it again opens that unit's command menu. X shows a selected unit's details and L/R cycle units in turn order. Choose Wait, select a facing and confirm with A to finish. The stylus can also select units, destinations and commands directly on the touch screen.
Luminous Arc 2 — About this game
Luminous Arc 2 builds its tactical battles around the order of individual turns, weapon reach and changes in elevation. Roland's party must choose where to stand before committing to an attack, because height and an ally's position affect the exchange. Actions build Drive Points that can strengthen Arts or support special attacks, while Lapis Seeds add equipment bonuses. As the story develops, Roland's Engage ability draws on pacts with witches to change his options in battle. Conversations and breaks between fights develop the party alongside these systems. The DS supports both touch and button input, so you can inspect the grid and choose targets without treating a turn as a test of reflexes.
