How to Play Luminous Arc
Quick start
Choose New Game, follow the opening dialogue and answer the word-choice prompt. In Holy Garden, read each battle objective and practise moving an active unit into its weapon's range before attacking. Keep ranged allies behind the front line. At preparation scenes, check equipment and supplies before advancing the story.
Controls
In button mode, use the D-pad to move the cursor and choose destinations, A to confirm and B to cancel. During battle, X displays health, Y shows terrain affinity and L/R cycle character status. SELECT changes control schemes. Stylus schemes select movement and attack targets on the touch screen; button mode is useful for precise grid choices.
Luminous Arc — About this game
Luminous Arc follows Alph and his companions through a fantasy story told between tactical battles. Each unit moves across a grid, where weapon reach, spell range and the position of allies determine which attacks are practical. A swordsman cannot cover the same ground as a bow user, so pushing everyone forward together can leave the wrong character exposed. Actions build the resources for Flash Drives, giving you a reason to plan when to spend a powerful attack. Preparation scenes let you talk to companions, buy equipment and advance the story. The DS presents unit information above the battlefield, and offers button and stylus control schemes for choosing moves and targets.
