How to Play Lunar Pool

Quick start

Start with the ordinary conditions before experimenting with friction. Press START on the title screen and use SELECT to pick 1 PLAYER GAME. Set ROUND to 1 with up/down, keep FRICTION at 32, then press START. Move the aiming marker round the white ball with left/right; extend it towards a distant target with up, or bring it closer with down. Watch the power gauge and press A or B at the desired strength. Aim to pot a numbered ball while leaving the white safely on the table.

Controls

During play, left/right turns the aiming marker anticlockwise/clockwise, while up/down lengthens or shortens the aiming guide. A and B both take the shot; the gauge determines its power at the moment you press. START opens the title-screen menu and starts play after setup. Menu controls: SELECT for game mode, up/down for the starting round, left/right for friction.

Lunar Pool — About this game

There is more to Lunar Pool than clearing a familiar rectangular table. Its thirty table shapes place pockets and cushions in awkward positions, making angles and rebounds central to your approach. Each shape has two starting arrangements, giving sixty rounds to tackle. You can practise a selected round or change the friction to see how differently the balls travel. The basic task stays straightforward: pot the numbered balls in any order without losing all your spare cue balls. Consecutive successful shots build the scoring rate, whereas three attempts without a pot or an in-off cost a spare. Rather than holding a button to charge a shot, you time your strike against a changing power gauge.
