How to Play Lunar: Dragon Song
Quick start
Leave Jian’s room at the inn, go downstairs, speak to Cherenkov and exit to the town map. Visit Fountain Square and examine the umbrella by the fountain to meet Lucia. At Gad’s Express, speak to Gad, choose Search and accept the available job to receive the Package. Use the newly available town exit toward Thieves’ Woods. Practise normal attacks in the early fights, watch your HP when running and save through System → Save.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move and select options. A confirms, talks, examines and advances text; B cancels, and holding B while moving runs at an HP cost. X opens the menu during exploration; Y starts a party consultation. Press R in combat areas to switch between Virtue and Combat Mode. On a town map, select a building with the cursor and A or tap its name on the lower screen. Use System → Save and choose a slot to record progress.
Lunar: Dragon Song — About this game
Jian and Lucia begin as couriers in Port Searis, but a delivery soon sends them through monster-filled woods and beyond. The DS adventure combines town-map destinations, dungeon exploration and command-based battles. Virtue Mode awards the Althena Conduct points needed to level up; defeating an area’s enemies under its timing rules can also open a blue treasure chest. Combat Mode instead provides items and monster cards, which support healing, battles and delivery work. Switching modes is therefore part of preparing the party, rather than just a difficulty choice. Running spends HP, so conserving strength and using Althena statues to recover matters on the journey.
