How to Play Lunar Knights

Quick start

Start a new game and follow Lucian and Nero through the grounds outside Rymer’s mansion. Use Y for attacks and hold B to guard while learning the first enemies’ timing. In a suitable patch of moonlight, hold A to replenish energy as the lesson explains. Read the hint panels and proceed through the opening dungeon; Aaron and character switching become relevant later.

Controls

Default controls: move with the Control Pad and double-tap a direction to run. Y attacks and B guards; A interacts or holds a charge under suitable light. Hold X with the Control Pad to look around and hold R to lock on. Hold L, then use up/down for equipped Terrennials or left/right for weapons. SELECT switches between available characters and START opens the menu. In shooting segments, drag the ship and tap enemies on the touch screen.

Lunar Knights — About this game

Lucian’s sword and Aaron’s solar guns offer different approaches to a world under vampire rule. Dungeon combat combines weapon attacks, guarding and elemental spirits called Terrennials, while the story gradually brings the two hunters together. Light and weather are part of the game world: its own day-and-night cycle affects energy, and climate conditions can open routes or change the environment. Exploration is also broken up by touch-screen shooting battles. Equipment and elemental choices give returning to a dungeon a tactical purpose. Ordinary play uses the DS game’s internal systems, so you do not need to seek real sunlight or use a physical solar sensor.
