How to Play Mach Rider
Quick start
At the title menu, use SELECT to highlight a course and press START. Solo is a useful starting point because no enemies appear. Accelerate with A and shift upward gradually with the D-pad, rather than staying in fourth gear at a very low speed. Release A and shift down to slow for a difficult section. Once comfortable, try Fighting Course and select a route with A or B.
Controls
A is the accelerator; letting go reduces speed. B shoots. D-pad left/right changes your line, while up/down changes gears through the four-speed range. START starts the selected mode or pauses and resumes play. SELECT changes the title-menu selection but has no racing function. Course editor: D-pad positions the cursor, B held with the D-pad chooses a piece, A places it and SELECT leaves the editing screen.
Mach Rider — About this game
Keeping the motorcycle moving smoothly is the heart of Mach Rider. A low gear helps you regain speed after slowing down, while well-timed shifts carry you into a fast run through the curves. The road is shared with aggressive opponents in Fighting and Endurance modes, but Solo offers a timed ride without enemy vehicles. You can fire at rivals and certain obstacles, or concentrate on finding a clean line around hazards. A built-in course designer adds another challenge: connect bends and straight sections into a complete route, then put your own layout to the test.
