How to Play Mad Max

Quick start

On the first roadway, visit a mine room to gather food and water before spending at a service station. Move with the D-pad, fire with A and use B to brake while driving. Press Select to inspect supplies and vehicle damage. Trade for fuel and an arena pass, then locate the newly accessible arena entrance. Avoid pits and push arena opponents over the edge; dynamite will not destroy them there.

Controls

D-pad: move Max or his car; move the service-station cursor. A: fire weapons or confirm purchases. B: brake on roadways. In the final battle, Up+B jumps and Down+B ducks; A fires the crossbow. Select: open inventory and pause; press again to close it.

Mad Max — About this game

Mad Max combines dangerous driving with supply hunts on foot. Food and water serve as barter goods at service stations, where you can obtain fuel, ammunition, repairs and the pass needed to enter an arena. The roads contain hostile cars, armed fortresses, oil slicks and pits; abandoned mine shafts offer supplies but are occupied by mutants. Keeping both Max and his vehicle in working order matters as much as fighting. Arena encounters change the tactics: enemy cars must be forced off the roadway rather than blasted with dynamite. Clearing an arena leads onward, with passwords marking progress toward a final crossbow confrontation.
