How to Play Madagascar
Quick start
Begin at the zoo and read the penguin's opening movement advice. Try the current animal's jump and special ability, then switch to a companion suited to the next low gap or obstacle. Keep an eye on health and the detection meter in sneaking sections.
Controls
Use the DS movement, jump and attack inputs introduced by the penguin. Tap a lower-screen animal crate or use L/R to switch available characters. Use the current animal's taught ability at the matching obstacle and watch the detection meter when guards are nearby.
Madagascar — About this game
The original DS Madagascar is a side-scrolling platform adventure following the zoo animals from New York toward the island. Alex's roar, Marty's kick, Gloria's heavy impact and Melman's abilities handle different enemies and barriers, with penguin advice introducing new actions. Change characters when a narrow opening or obstacle calls for a different skill. Sneaking portions add a detection limit alongside ordinary health, while coins unlock bonus activities and new abilities can open earlier inaccessible paths. Begin in the zoo, learn one character's actions and inspect the next barrier before switching. Touch-screen animal crates make that choice available during the stage. Begin with the opening instructions and practice the main interaction before pursuing optional rewards. Read the current objective, make one deliberate choice and watch its effect before repeating it. A short first session makes it easier to separate a missed instruction from a difficult challenge. Return to the available menu when you need to check progress or adjust your approach, then continue from the next clear objective.
