How to Play Madden NFL 09
Quick start
Choose a short exhibition game or Practice with one team. Select a simple running play, read the down and yards needed, then snap and follow the blocking. Try one short pass next, checking the receiver marker before throwing. Review the result before changing formations.
Controls
In Classic controls, move with the Control Pad, press A to snap or sprint and X to show passing icons, then use the indicated receiver button. B spins while carrying; Y dives and L/R juke. In Touch controls, follow the receiver icons and gesture prompts. Kick through the displayed meter.
Madden NFL 09 — About this game
Madden NFL 09 keeps DS football focused on calling formations, reading receivers and defending the next down. Classic and Touch schemes give different ways to move the ball, so learn one before switching. Away from a full match, Rec Room offers Paper Football, Last Minute Miracle, Playbook Flash and Hit the Hole. Playbook Flash briefly shows route lines for you to remember and redraw, while Hit the Hole asks you to guide a runner past tacklers with the stylus. Begin with a short exhibition or one practice activity, review the control setting and watch the remaining distance before risking a long pass. This USA Rev 1 entry retains that DS setup. Begin with the opening instructions and practice the main interaction before pursuing optional rewards. Read the current objective, make one deliberate choice and watch its effect before repeating it. A short first session makes it easier to separate a missed instruction from a difficult challenge. Return to the available menu when you need to check progress or adjust your approach, then continue from the next clear objective.
