How to Play Madden NFL 2000
Quick start
Press START at the title to reach Game Setup. Choose a team and begin with a simple running play. Snap with B and follow the ball carrier; practice the passing window only after movement feels familiar.
Controls
The D-pad moves players and selects options; A confirms menus. B snaps the ball and gives a running speed burst. On a pass, A opens the window and selects a receiver, B throws. On defense, B selects the defender nearest the ball and A tackles or blocks. A while running dives or slides as quarterback.
Madden NFL 2000 — About this game
Begin by learning what changes before and after the snap. On offense, a running play makes it easier to follow the ball carrier and see where defenders close the gap. Passing adds a separate receiver-selection step. On defense, switch to a useful player rather than chasing with someone too far away. Short, controlled gains can be more valuable than forcing a risky long pass.
