How to Play Madden NFL 2002
Quick start
Choose PLAY NOW, select home and away teams, review Game Rules and assign the controller to your team, then start the exhibition. On offense, choose a formation and play, press A to snap and use short passes while learning. On defense, select the nearest defender with A and tackle the ball carrier; use the default automatic offense control for an easier first game.
Controls
Running: D-pad moves, A speed burst, B spins, L dives and R hurdles. Passing: A shows receiver symbols, then A/B/L/R throws to that receiver; SELECT throws away. Defense after snap: A selects nearest defender, B speed-bursts/power-tackles, L dives and R jumps/raises hands. START pauses; play menus use D-pad/A and B returns.
