How to Play Major League Baseball 2K10
Quick start
Open the tutorial or a Play Ball game and choose the two teams. Practise one pitch's power and accuracy timing, then try a standard swing while leaving pitches outside the zone alone. Learn one inning before selecting a longer Season or a direct Postseason run.
Controls
Menus use touch or the +Control Pad with A to select and B to cancel. At bat, B swings normally, A power-swings and Y bunts. Aim pitches with the pad; hold and release the pitch's displayed button for power, then press again as the circle shrinks for accuracy. L advances runners and R returns them; manual fielding uses the pad and base buttons.

Button swings distinguish normal contact from power and bunting, while pitching combines a held power charge with a second timing press for accuracy. Default baserunning can handle advances, or you can direct runners and select manual fielding. Close Pivotal Plays introduce brief on-screen commands that can influence a tight result. Great feats unlock baseball cards, with locked cards explaining their requirements. Begin in Tutorials and one Play Ball inning, then set season length and postseason format carefully because those settings are fixed after the season begins. Begin with the opening instructions and practice the main interaction before pursuing optional rewards. Read the current objective, make one deliberate choice and watch its effect before repeating it. A short first session makes it easier to separate a missed instruction from a difficult challenge. Return to the available menu when you need to check progress or adjust your approach, then continue from the next clear objective.
