How to Play Makaimura

Quick start

Press Select on the title, select "1 PLAYER", and start with Start. In the graveyard, press B to defeat the enemies in front of you, and press A to cross the graves and steps. There may be enemies where you land, so check your surroundings before flying. You can climb the ladder at the top and get off at the bottom. When approaching a red flying enemy, do not rush forward, but keep your distance and attack while watching their movements. After defeating the boss, take the key and proceed to the next stage. Remember that once the armor is broken, another contact will be a mistake.

Controls

Left and right: Move. Above: Climb the ladder. Down: Descend the ladder, crouch. A: Jump. B: Throw the equipped weapon. Select: Select the number of players by title (disabled during the game). Start: Start the game, pause and resume. Two players play in shifts, not at the same time.

Makaimura — About this game

Knight Arthur travels through graveyards, forests, and monster castles to save a princess who has been kidnapped by a messenger from the demon world. It's a side-scrolling action game where you fight by jumping and throwing weapons, but your armor will break once you get hit, and if you get hit again while naked, you'll miss. You have to pay attention not only to your enemies, but also to your footing and how much time you have left. New weapons and scoring items will appear from pots along the way, and since each weapon has a different rate of fire, trajectory, and targets enemies, it's important to decide which weapons to pick up. Especially in the Famicom version, players are required not only to move forward, but also to dodge the enemies that appear later and protect their landing spot. By observing the movements of large enemies and remembering the steps to attack while keeping your distance, you can gradually overcome difficult points.
