How to Play California Games
Quick start
Press 2 to reach the menu, select practice with the D-pad and confirm with 2. Start with footbag: stay beneath the bag, use 2 to keep it up and 1 to jump. Learn each sport separately before competing in all six.
Controls
Menus: D-pad selects, 2 confirms. Half-pipe: up while ascending/down while descending builds speed; right on left wall/left on right wall turns; 2 handplant. Footbag: left/right move, down half-turn, 1 jump, 2 strike. Surf: 2 starts, left/right turn, hold 2 for tighter turns. Roller: alternate up/down to skate, left spin, hold 2 crouch/release jump. BMX: up/down steer, 2 pedal, 1 jump (brake near finish); airborne directions perform tricks. Disc: 1/2 activates meter, left sets speed, right sets angle, left or 1/2 throws; catcher left/right runs, up reaches, 2 dives.
California Games — About this game
California Games links six very different events: half-pipe skateboarding, footbag, surfing, roller skating, BMX racing and flying disc. Each has its own rhythm and scoring rules. Pumping a ramp is different from keeping a footbag airborne, and a disc throw depends on choosing both speed and angle before controlling the catcher. Practise events individually, then enter a competition and compare scores. Safe landings and well-timed moves matter more than pressing every button at once.
