How to Play Hang On
Quick start
Use up/down on the title screen to choose a level, then press 1. Start in low gear and hold 2 to accelerate; use down to move through the higher gears as speed builds. Brake before a tight bend and leave space when passing another bike.
Controls
Left/right: steer. Up: shift down; down: shift up through the three gears. 1: brake and start the selected level. Hold 2: accelerate. On the title screen, up/down selects the starting level.
Hang On — About this game
Hang On makes keeping your speed a constant judgement call. The road shifts from racing circuits to coastal scenery, desert formations and city lights, while other riders and roadside obstacles leave little room for mistakes. Braking protects you on a difficult bend but spends time you need to reach the next stage. Crashes let you resume at the same place, yet the lost seconds can end a run. Three gears let you build speed again after slowing down, and the starting difficulty changes the challenge you face. The best route is rarely the shortest-looking gap: looking ahead, choosing a safe side for an overtake and accelerating smoothly are what keep the timer from catching you.
