How to Play James 'Buster' Douglas Knockout Boxing
Quick start
Choose a game speed and one-player play. In the first bout, guard the head with up and the body with down. Try 1 and 2 for left and right jabs, then use a forward diagonal with a punch for an uppercut or body blow. Charge a Superpunch only when you have room.
Controls
Player 1: left/right walks, tap left leans back, up guards head, down guards body, down-left ducks. 1 left jab, 2 right jab. Up-right+1/2 uppercuts; down-right+1/2 body blows. Hold 1+2 and release at full power for Superpunch. Reverse horizontal directions for player 2. Console Pause pauses.

James Buster Douglas Knockout Boxing puts Buster Douglas on a route through five increasingly demanding opponents. The action revolves around distance, separate head and body guards, and choosing between jabs, uppercuts and body punches. A charged Superpunch offers a heavier blow, but preparing it leaves you watching both the power gauge and your opponent. Pick a game speed and either a solo campaign or a bout against another player. Player two faces the opposite direction, so the horizontal parts of the moves reverse. Start with short exchanges: block an attack, step into reach, land a jab and move out before trying a charged punch. Learning when to defend is as useful as learning a long combination of inputs.
