How to Play Rastan
Quick start
Press 1/START on the title screen. Move right, attack with 1 and jump with 2. Practise up+2 for a higher leap and a downward sword strike during a jump before tackling a rope or a gap.
Controls
Left/right: move. Down: crouch; up/down: climb a stationary rope. 1: weapon attack. 2: jump; up+2: high jump. In the air, down+1: downward strike. Up+1: upward attack. Console Pause: inventory and score.
Rastan — About this game
Rastan sets a lone barbarian on a dangerous journey to rescue a kidnapped princess. The route combines sword fighting with leaps over hostile terrain, climbing ropes and traps that punish a careless landing. Your basic sword remains available, while axes, maces and a fire sword offer temporary changes in reach or power. Defensive equipment reduces particular kinds of damage, so collecting an item is only useful if you make good use of its limited duration. Attack high enemies with an upward strike and strike down while falling onto a target. Stationary ropes let you climb, whereas swinging ropes demand a well-timed release. Boss fights test both positioning and speed: lingering in a dangerous chamber drains the life you need to survive. Learn safe footholds before chasing a pickup, and use the sword to break suspicious rocks.
