How to Play Street Fighter II'
Quick start
Press 1 or 2 to leave the title, choose a fighter with the D-pad and confirm with an action button. Start with punches, kicks and blocking; use Options to lower the difficulty while learning.
Controls
D-pad: approach or retreat, down crouches, up jumps. Hold away to block, down-away to crouch-block. 1: punch. 2: kick. Combine direction and an attack for crouching/jumping attacks and the fighter’s special commands.
Street Fighter II' — About this game
Street Fighter II adapts head-to-head fighting to the Master System’s two-button pad. Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Blanka, Guile, Balrog, Sagat and M. Bison form the eight-fighter selection. A punch button and a kick button cover grounded, crouching and jumping attacks, while holding away from the opponent blocks. Spacing matters: a missed attack leaves an opening, and jumping forward commits you to an approach. Options offer difficulty and a time-limit setting. Begin with ordinary attacks and defense before learning your fighter’s special commands. This version uses its own reduced move set, so building a plan around the attacks actually available is more useful than relying on habits from other editions.
