How to Play Strider
Quick start
Press 1 or 2 through the title and story screens to begin. Use 1 for the sword and 2 to jump. Practice diagonal down movement for a slide and diagonal up with 2 for a cartwheel jump before rushing across gaps.
Controls
D-pad: move and crouch. Down-left/down-right: slide. 1: plasma sword and screen advance. 2: jump and screen advance. Up plus 2 performs a cartwheel jump; diagonal up steers its direction.
Strider — About this game
Strider sends Hiryu against the mutants and machines serving Grand Master Meio. The mission crosses five stages, from a besieged city and Siberian heights to a flying battleship, the Amazon and the final confrontation. A plasma sword handles close enemies, while jumps and low slides help negotiate broken ground and incoming attacks. Some enemies carry canisters that provide useful supplies after they are destroyed. Each area has a time limit, so learning the route matters as much as defeating attackers. Enemies can approach from either side or fire several shots, making a cleared stretch unsafe if you stop watching. Study a new obstacle before committing to a leap, then keep moving through the stage toward the Third Moon.
