How to Play Wonder Boy III - The Dragon's Trap

Quick start

Select NEW GAME. Descend through the castle to the Meka Dragon, defeat it and escape. Once transformed, explore the town and record a password at the church before setting out. Buying equipment does not automatically equip it.

Controls

Left/right: move; up: enter doors; down: crouch where the form allows. 1: attack/back; 2: jump/confirm. Down+2 uses the selected secondary weapon. Pause opens status and equipment. Repeated 2 swims as Piranha-Man or flies as Hawk-Man; Mouse-Man clings to special walls with direction+2.

Wonder Boy III - The Dragon's Trap — About this game

After defeating the Meka Dragon, Wonder Boy is cursed into a lizard and must find the Salamander Cross to become human again. Further transformations change how he fights and explores, opening paths through land, water and air. Gold buys equipment, and returning to familiar places with a new ability reveals routes that were previously out of reach. The town serves as the centre of this connected adventure.
