How to Play Mechanized Attack
Quick start
Press START to begin. With the standard controller, move the sight using the D-pad and fire with B; hold B for machine-gun fire. Watch for incoming shots and shoot supplies when they appear. A uses a grenade, or a rocket if rockets have replaced your grenade stock. At a route-selection screen, aim at the desired picture and press B. Keep an eye on LIFE, magazines and explosives rather than firing everything at once.
Controls
D-pad: move the sight. B: fire the gun; hold for automatic fire with the controller. A: throw a grenade or fire a rocket, depending on the current stock. START: begin or pause/resume. SELECT is unused. At route choices, aim at a picture and shoot it with B. If using the Zapper, its trigger fires the gun; A and START remain on the controller.
Mechanized Attack — About this game
Mechanized Attack is a shooting-gallery assault rather than a game about steering a soldier around a map. The action brings enemies and their incoming attacks into view while you move the sight and decide what to shoot first. The NES controller provides sustained gunfire, but precise defensive shots still matter: destroying a large target is not much help if its projectiles drain your life gauge. Grenades and rockets offer stronger attacks, with their remaining stock shown separately from ordinary ammunition. Supplies must be shot to collect them, making a brief opening useful for both offense and recovery. Some cleared areas lead to a choice of routes. You can play with the standard controller instead of a light gun, though the two aiming methods feel different. Learn to track small incoming threats before spending every explosive on the larger enemy behind them.
