How to Play Meitantei Holmes: Kiri no London Satsujin Jiken
Quick start
Select the display speed using the four-way controller for the title, press SELECT to START, and press the START button. At the boarding house, hear about the job and address from Veronica, then go out with "Ido". To reach the Norton house, use the carriage or walk northwest. When you enter the house, ask what you noticed and examine the study with a magnifying glass. Try ``taking'' any evidence you can find. When interrupting, switch from "?" to Watson and accurately record the password displayed for "Nikki wo Kaku".
Controls
Moving around town: Walk with the cross key. A when talking to people or riding a horse-drawn carriage; START is paused while moving. Adventure screen: Use the four-way controller to select items, use the left and right buttons to switch commands, and use the four-way controller to adjust the position of the magnifying glass. Press A to decide/send the text, press B to cancel the command. "?" has special actions such as switching characters, and "drawing a smile" is exclusive to Watson. SELECT the title by selecting START/CONTINUE and pressing the START button.

``Detective Holmes: The Fog of London Murders'' is an investigative adventure that begins with Veronica's consultation as she worries about her father's whereabouts. Have the two walk through the streets of London, and collect clues by selecting commands such as ``Listen to the story,'' ``Inspect,'' and ``Show.'' Inside the buildings. It's important to not only look at the background, but also move the magnifying glass around to examine every detail. Holmes and Watson can be switched and operated, and there are actions that only each can do. If your inquiry is not making any progress, listen to your partner's opinion and think about it from a different perspective. Horse-drawn carriages are convenient for transportation, but they cost money, so you need to be careful about how you use your investigation costs. When the incident is interrupted, it will be easier to make deductions if you write down the password in Watson's diary and record the obtained testimony and location in your notes.
